In this episode, we chat about the book, “The Wonder Weeks,” by Hetty van de Rijt, Ph.D., Frans Plooij, Ph.D., and Xaviera Plas-Plooij.
The book outlines “how to stimulate the most important developmental weeks in your baby’s first 20 months and turn these 10 predictable, great, fussy phases into magical leaps forward.”
We discuss how we prefer the term and concept of a ‘leap’ to the more popular one, ‘milestone’; how we’ve continued to apply the term ‘leap’ to our daughter’s development past the age range presented in the book, and what strategies we’ve used as parents to push through the inevitable fussy phases, and trust the ride to take us to the wonderful gains that come soon after.
